What is Bufo?

The bufo alvarius toad is known to live in the Sonoran desert in Mexico and some states in the US. It secretes a venom called 5-MeO-DMT from glands it contains mainly on its back and legs. It can be known by different names: Bufo, El Sapo, Sapito, Colorado river Toad, and Sonoran Desert toad. This liquid is extracted from the toad’s glands and dehydrated into crystals on a flat surface like glass, crushed and then smoked in a simple glass pipe or vaporizer. The Bufo alvarius toad venom contains 5-MeO-DMT and 5-HO-DMT (Bufotenin). 5-MeO-DMT is a naturally-occurring entheogen and a potent psychedelic.
